The incredible shrinking workforce
My daily commute is replete with billboards that promote local companies as great places to work. They typically include a photo of a younger worker, beaming from ear to ear, and a caption encouraging similar individuals to begin their careers at their particular company. Yet many employers complain that they cannot find qualified candidates. This problem appears to be most acute for skilled, technical and experienced positions. What’s going on?
