About IIE Chapter 92, Greater Kansas City

The Greater Kansas City Chapter boasts over 100 members in the Kansas City area, including members as far west as Manhattan, Kansas and as far east as Columbia, Missouri. Our members can be found in manufacturing, distribution, service, consulting, education, and even retirement!

Our meetings range from dinner meetings on such topics as Lean Manufacturing, Quality Tools, and even the new Sprint Center; to tours of such facilities as Harley-Davidson, Payless ShoeSource, Boulevard Brewing Company, and the new Kansas City Star facility!  We also participate in community service events and host full day seminars with speakers from all over the country!

In addition to these great continuing education opportunities, we provide exposure to an excellent network of fellow Industrial Engineers.

A Message From Our President

Thank you for visiting the Kansas City Chapter Website!  If you are not familiar with the Institute of Industrial Engineers or Chapter 92, I encourage you to browse through our newsletter archives.  They will give you a better idea about our Chapter and some of our past events.

Our officer team strives to make the Kansas City Chapter a strong one.    We work to provide interesting tours and dinner meetings, opportunities for networking and community service, and what I believe are two very high-quality annual events.  Our annual Mentor Day is held in October and draws industrial engineering students from Kansas State and the University of Missouri, as well as professionals from around the Kansas City area.  All participants take part in a morning tour, followed by lunch and visits to mentor workplaces in the afternoon.  We also host an annual day-long local conference, with speakers from anywhere in the country and proceeds supporting scholarships for industrial engineering students.

We are always looking for suggestions for meeting topics and tour locations.  If you have any questions about IIE, as well as comments or ideas, please send them my way.  Thanks again for visiting us!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Albers
