Sharing knowledge | Conference & Call for papers

The third Industrial Engineering and Management Conference 2014 (IEM3-2014) will be held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago, on Dec. 5-6.

The theme of the IEM3-2014 Conference is “The Challenges of Project Engineering and Management in a Sustainable World.” It aims to advance the theory and practice of industrial engineering and management and to identify recent developments and major challenges in meeting the diverse needs of the Caribbean region.

The conference provides a forum for academics, researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas; to facilitate a regionwide awareness of IEM competence; and the use of various IEM concepts, models and tools that support companies and organisations to become more successful in the emerging CARICOM context. IEM3-2014 invites papers for presentation and suggested topics of interest that fall into two groups: traditional industrial engineering areas and project management focus areas.

Original abstracts and papers relevant to the theme are invited. Extended abstracts (not more than 300 words) and full papers in English should be sent via email to KitFai.Pun@sta.uwi.edu or fax to (868) 662 4414 (Attn: Prof. K.F. Pun). Each submission will be reviewed for technical merit and content. Papers accepted for presentation will appear in the conference proceedings, provided that at least one author registers for the conference. Proposals for special sessions, tutorials or workshops are also welcome. Maximum length for each accepted paper in the proceedings is eight (8) single-spaced pages. Strong papers would be recommended for a fast-track publication subject to review in The West Indian Journal of Engineering (ISSN 0511-5728) and The Journal of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago (ISSN 1000 7924).

Important Dates:
• Abstract/Paper Submission: Monday, Sept. 1
• Acceptance of Abstracts/Papers: Monday, Sept. 15
• Final Manuscript Submission: Monday, Nov. 10

If you have any queries regarding the submission of abstracts, please feel free to contact Pun at KitFai.Pun@sta.uwi.edu. We wish to see you at the IEM3-2014 Conference in Trinidad on Dec. 5-6.
