A facility tour of The Louisville Slugger Museum was one of three facility tours offered to attendees of ELSS 2012. The Louisville Slugger Museum is a museum and factory where Louisville Slugger baseball bats are created and baseball’s history is preserved. The Louisville Slugger is the official bat of Major League Baseball.
Glenn Uminger, Toyota executive in residence at the University of Kentucky, speaks to ELSS 2012 attendees on Oct. 2. Uminger was one of five keynote speakers featured at the conference. Also speaking during the three-day event were Mark Shirkness, general manager – distribution for GE Appliances; Marcia Brey, warehouse and logistics manager – distribution with GE Appliance and Lighting; Tejas Gandhi, Ph.D., assistant vice president of management engineering and lean with Virtua; and Brent Stucker, Ph.D., professor of industrial engineering at the University of Louisville.
