Operations Research News, an e-mail newsletter sent periodically to all members, includes articles on simulation developments and applications, and statistical process control as well as other points of interest.
New board members and president-elect
The members of the Institute of Industrial Engineering (IIE) Operations Research (OR) Division conducted an election for two open board of directors positions. The voting was tabulated earlier this month and the newly elected Board of Directors members are John Fowler (Arizona State University) and Maria Mayorga (Clemson University). These two new board members replace Brandy Montague (Disney) and Gwen Campbell (Harris). Thank you, Brandy and Gwen, for your service to the division! Additionally, Jeff Kharoufeh (University of Pittsburgh) was elected to be president-elect.
In this year's election for the board, there were six candidates for two open positions. This is the most number of candidates for board positions in the last four years. If anyone would like to participate in the OR division and you are attending IERC or IIE Solutions conference in Cancún, you are encouraged to attend the OR Division Townhall Meeting at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 6, in Cancún.
