The key to warehouse design and control comes from a block of rationality

Measuring the cube of handled articles, storage locations and other facets of design and operation can be a powerful tool in warehouse operations. Despite this fact, the typical company rarely collects a database of product cube, loaded pallet cube or other distribution information. Hopefully, this outline of how to use cubic data will encourage warehouses to use the cube to its fullest potential, whether they collect such data now or are inspired to start.
