Cloud computing clarity
What every IE needs to know about the newest software paradigm

When people think about cloud computing, the first thing that comes to mind is SkyDrive or Dropbox. Instead of having to lug all those files around, we can access them wherever and whenever. That’s great, but have you ever thought of Gmail as a cloud? What about your Scottrade account or your Netflix account? All of these are examples of what are called software as a service within the cloud, a growing paradigm that industrial engineers will need to account for when dealing with the IT portion of their enterprises.
