Stepping up our IE impact

I feel fortunate to have witnessed Moore’s Law from its infancy almost 40 years ago. Since then, as predicted, memory density and processing speed have doubled about every 18 months. Industrial engineering certainly has benefitted. However, we are reaching a step change, as I expect this exponential growth driver to alter the way IEs contribute to work system design and improvement.
