Transition management: Making it personal

This month’s column brings mixed emotions. I recently accepted a new position with the U.S. government that will take me away from the healthcare industry. Therefore, IE magazine will turn to a couple of new columnists who will share their timely industrial engineering perspectives related to healthcare systems. Like most real-life transitions, this change is fraught with challenges and uncertainty. Early in my decision process, I applied some of my favorite change management principles to help me navigate through this personal transition.
