This month, one of our research highlights features IEs creating a website and methodology to help warehouse managers benchmark their performance. The website has been helping warehouses around the world since 2001. The second article shows that control strategies that account for variability – for example, the variability in products that enter a tunnel freezer – can lead to impressive savings, decreased energy consumption and environmental improvements. These articles will appear in the March issue of IIE Transactions (Volume 43, No. 3).
