At a recent business networking event, I was approached by a couple of assistants who were organizing attendees into “like” groups to facilitate the networking experience. Imagine their surprise when they asked me where I would best fit – healthcare, manufacturing, retail, government, education or finance – and I said “All of the above.”
They probably thought I was being facetious, but industrial engineers bring value to all these settings. The real challenge lies in finding our personal “fit” where we can apply our time and talent to make a difference.
