Lean Student Paper Competition
The Lean Student Paper Competition recognizes outstanding lean research and practices papers. Papers should demonstrate or describe the use of techniques such as simulation, lean principle implementation, alternative designs, kaizen implementation, or another lean technique.
- Open to full-time graduate and undergraduate students, and design teams.
- The paper must present original research results and the research must have been conducted while the applicant was a student.
- The paper must not have won or been considered for an award in another competition.
- Winner will have the opportunity to present the paper in an IERC research track.
- At least one author must be an IIE member and present the paper at the IIE Annual Conference.
- Deadline for submission of papers: Dec. 15, 2009.
- Three finalists will be notified by Feb. 2, 2010.
Three awards may be given upon recommendation of the selection committee. All authors will receive a certificate stating place awarded. The lead authors of the first, second, and third place papers will receive the following awards that they may share with any co-authors at their discretion:
- First place: $600 and complimentary IIE Annual Conference registration
- Second place: $300
- Third place: $100
IIE Lean Division is pleased to announce the winners of the third Lean Student Paper Competition sponsored by J. T. and Carol S. Black. The competition recognizes outstanding papers in the field of lean research and practices.
