One of the goals of the Construction Division is to assist members in becoming actively involved in the construction industry. While industrial engineers who are entrenched in other industries may find this transition somewhat challenging, students are ideally positioned to undertake a career in construction. Mentoring by experienced professionals and internships are invaluable ways of preparing today’s students to be tomorrow’s construction professionals. We are actively seeking members who work in the construction industry to serve as mentors. We would also like to help students to find internship opportunities. If you work in a construction organization, speak with those who make the hiring decisions and convince them to include an IE in their summer job pool. Also, let us know about any such opportunities, so we can pass the word along to our student members.
