Officer Descriptions
President
In charge of running meetings, making sure required reports are completed on time (strategic planning, CAR, taxes), making sure everything runs smoothly, help Events Coordinator plan activities with other chapters and senior chapters, attend DSES UGAC monthly meetings, keep in contact with other chapters regarding regional conferences, encourage members to participate in technical paper and simulation competition, help promote IIE/IME/DSES at campus events.
Vice-President
In charge of the newsletter (planning when, how many, what goes into it, who writes what, and editing it), keeping in contact with the Regional Vice President (RVP) and other chapters, help promote IIE/IME/DSES at campus events.
Conference Coordinator
As you have probably heard by now RPI will be hosting the 2009 IIE Regional Conference. A new Officer Position has been created to serve as the head of the Conference Effort. Specifically in the next year you will be asked to work with the department in scheduling and acquiring funding for the 2009 conference. You will also be responsible for developing a committee to plan for the conference and presenting the plan at the 2008 Regional Conference at PITT. By taking this position you will gain valuable experience in Event Management and develop connections with sponsors, faculty and national IIE representatives. The position is open to all students who will be at RPI in the Spring of 2009, current sophomores or freshman.
Treasurer
Maintain excel spreadsheet throughout year of all income and expenses, submit all paperwork for taxes, responsible for fundraising, help promote IIE/IME/DSES at campus events.
Secretary
Record minutes at all meetings; keep notebook/folder of all meeting minutes, flyers, newsletters, etc; responsible for having the Chapter Activity Report at all officers meeting and keeping us on track of what we have and have not done, updating member email list, help promote IIE/IME/DSES at campus events.
Events Coordinator
Schedule 1 plant tour per semester, plan 1 IME social per semester including any guest speakers if necessary, work with President to plan activities with other chapters and senior chapters, plan activities with APM, INFORMS, TBP, SWE etc.., help promote IIE/IME/DSES at campus events.
Webmaster
Keep website up-to-date, continually improve website by benchmarking with other chapters, help promote IIE/IME/DSES at campus events.
Freshman Liason
A freshman member chosen by the current officers in the fall of every year who they believe will help out the organization, as well as run for an office in their sophomore year.
