Why Should I Attend Chapter Meetings?

Reasons for attending Local IIE Chapter Meetins from:
    Donna Calvert
    Corporate Operation Manager, IIE

What Attending IIE Chapter Meetings Can Do For You...
Whether you're looking for ways to save time, find your next job, or develop relationships that help build your business, your network is an importan tool for achieving your goals. One of the best places to network is at your local IIE chapter meetings.

Five benefits of a well-developed network:
    1. Your creativity is increased.
When you talk to your business buddies, you get other points of view. Seeing the world from different perspectives stimulates your mind - and new ideas are often born.

    2. You can solve problems with more ease.
Whether challenged by finding better marketing, developing more efficiency, or dealing with difficult bosses/employees, odds are someone in your chapter has had a similar experience.

    3. You have a support team.
In this era of great change and time shortage, it's nice to know that you're not alone. In fact, developing good relationships is one way to lower stress!

    4. You have access to other's best practices.
Best practices can help you cut costs and increase productivity. In other words, do more with less work!
Ask your network: "What is the most valuable thing you've learned and what works well for you?"

    5. You'll be able to accomplish more in less time.
Having a diverse network creates a variety of minds for you to tap for answers - answers that might take you lots of time to find on your own!
Become a resource in your expertise for your business buddies, and they'll do the same for you.

Bottom line, building your network at meetings is a smart way to increase the return you get from making the time to be involved in your local IIE chapter.
