PSEC – Career Day Speaker Program is seeking Engineer Volunteer Speakers The Puget Sound Engineering Council (PSEC) is seeking additional volunteers for the Career Day Speaker program from PSEC’s member engineering societies. These are usually day time events and can be multiple presentations. Usually from one to four classroom presentations are made during a single day at a local Puget Sound area school. The “Learning for Life” Washington Schools Program has been organizing the Career Day events with local schools and then contacting PSEC for engineer speakers. Volunteers will be part of a list of engineers that are willing to talk to high school and middle school students about the engineering profession and their engineering experience. You can ask to be removed from the volunteer speaker list at any time. Several general engineering PowerPoint presentations will be made available to the volunteers that sign up – and these presentations can easily be modified with your personal information. The events are communicated to the volunteer list and sign-ups are done on a first-come first-serve basis. Once the speaker is identified for each event – the remaining contact is done directly with the school teacher (or their facilitator). If interested – send your name and e-mail address to Steve Snelling – current Career Day Speaker coordinator stephen.r.snelling@boeing.com
