Chapter Overview

Mission Statement:

To provide a professional environment for practicing Industrial Engineers, managers, guests, and students in order to enhance their knowledge of the IE profession and related activities within the local community, region, and nation.

To be the premier organization representing Industrial Engineers in the Puget Sound.

- Board of Directors, IIE Puget Sound

Chapter Boundaries: Officially, our organization includes members in and around the following cities/towns: Seattle, Bellevue, Everett, Redmond, Kirkland, Renton, Arlington, Marysville, Lake Stevens, Snohomish, Monroe, Vashon Island, Kent, Auburn, Federal Way, Tacoma, and Gig Harbor. However, residency in one of these areas is not a prerequisite for membership in our chapter. In fact, our chapter currently has members living in Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Canada.

Chapter Membership: Our chapter membership has remained steady for the past few years at about 200 members.

Chapter Programs: Chapter events are generally planned for our program year from September through May. In addition, general chapter meetings are periodically scheduled to review our strategic plan, develop new leaders, and solicit further input from our members and guests.

Chapter Finances: The chapter is funded through a portion of each member’s national dues in the Institute of Industrial Engineers. In addition, chapter funds come from donations, interest on our current accounts, advertising, etc.
