About the presenter
Cokins is an internationally recognized expert, speaker and author in advanced
cost management and performance improvement systems. He is the founder of
Analytics-Based Performance Management, an advisory firm located in Cary, N.C.
Cokins, who is certified in production and inventory management, received a
bachelor's degree with honors in industrial engineering/operations research from
Cornell University and earned his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg
School of Management. Cokins began his career with FMC's Link-Belt Division as
a strategic planner, financial controller and operations manager, and then
served as a management consultant with Deloitte and KPMG. He later became the head of
the National Cost Management Consulting Services for Electronic Data Systems
(now part of HP). From 1997 until recently, Cokins was in business development
His two most recent books are Performance Management: Finding the
Missing Pieces to Close the Intelligence Gap and Performance Management:
Integrating Strategy Execution, Methodologies, Risk, and Analytics. His next
book is Predictive Business Analytics, published by John Wiley & Sons.
